District Strategic
Planning shows how one district incorporated two different concepts
for an overall long-range plan that considers the mission and values
for the district and the community. This plan aligns the funding priorities
with the instructional plan and gives the Board of Education, the Superintendent
and the district staff a clear roadmap for the future.
Quality Indicators
of an Exemplary District provide us with a look at the best practices
used by two districts chosen by the state panel of judges to be award
winners for 2001. This is the opportunity to dialogue with them and
set goals to be a future award winner.
The Great GASB
gives us a panel of auditors to provide some framework and answers on
how to prepare for the implementation from the auditor perspective.
The auditors have worked with two districts that are in the first stages
of implementation and will answer questions you have. So plan to bring
questions.
District Revenue
A to Z has been the most requested topic throughout the Institute.
Show me the tax cycle and how all this gets to my desk. The Revenue
Cabinet panel presents this in clear language.
Fixed Assets
Management includes the pilot test districts for the MUNIS module
that is used for districts to maintain district inventory. There also
is technology information provided.
Financial Proficiency
is presented for overall understanding of what the role of the consolidated
plan is and where and how the budget drives the plan. School allocations
are discussed and the session is very interactive.
Leadership Growth
gives us the opportunity to reflect and then stretch ourselves in the
role of a district leader.
Advanced Planning/Budgeting
is the group project that will involve small group discussion and then
representative verbal presentations. Here we glean knowledge from each
other.
Certificate
Presentation and Celebration Reception
Let's
dress up, stand tall and be very proud of a three-year achievement and
commitment. This is a gala time and final opportunity to network with
peers and appreciate each other.
