Criteria
for continuing education credit units:
- One continuing
education unit (CEU) is ten (10) contact hours of participation.
- The number
of CEU’s per student equals the clock hours or contact hours
divided by 10. to figure use the following guideline:
Example:
A student attended 24 hours of a CEU course; student
will receive 2.4 continuing education units of credit (CEU’s)
When
calculating the number of CEU’s for a course, the
number of contact minutes should be totaled and divided
by 60 to arrive at the number of contact hours. Non-instruct-
ional time such as breaks, introductions, lunches and social
events are not included in the number of contact hours.
(Any segment of an hour less than 30 minutes is not
counted towards the number of contact hours.)
